Keller owes its success to its employees. That is why we support the talented and enthusiastic people who devote their time to Keller and why we nurture the next generation.
Providing training and development opportunities is not simply a matter of getting more from our people. We know that work should be challenging, rewarding and stimulating – providing new opportunities to overcome obstacles and develop skills. With this in mind, we make sure that Keller staff across all parts of the business have regular opportunities to learn and develop.
At the company or divisional level, this covers technical, safety and competency-based training, together with general management courses for intermediate level managers. In addition to generic programmes for groups of employees, training is tailored to the specific needs of individuals, where training needs have been identified through performance appraisals or as part of a wider talent assessment exercise.
At a Group level, we offer our own Senior Management Development Programme and Global Engineers’ Programme.
The Senior Management Development Programme is a strategic development programme tailored to our specific needs. Every 18 months, some 25 senior managers from around the Group participate in three one-week training modules, led by expert external trainers. As well as developing their management skills and techniques, participants on the programme form strong and enduring support networks with peers from other parts of the Group.
We have recently introduced our Global Engineers’ Programme – a two-year programme made up of four consecutive six-month stages, each hosted by one of Keller’s four regional divisions. It is a unique opportunity for engineers who one day aspire to move into senior general management roles, providing a diversity of learning and experience that will enable them to develop a global outlook and build effective networks across our Group.
