• Deliver some SQL. Receive a statement handle.

  $sth = $dbh->prepare( "SQL STATEMENT" );

• Do the SQL.

  $sth->execute;

• Free up the resources used by the SQL.

  $sth->finish;

• Continue to prepare, execute, and finish statements until done.

• Disconnect from the database.
