Notes for SJSU Class
Using the Linux web server:
Login to lab.pdc.sjsu.edu using telnet.
Edit files with pico if vi is unfamiliar.
Configuration of the classroom PCs:
Each student has a private U: drive that's writable only by him or her.
All the PCs share a common X: drive. This is a good way to pass files from one student to another.
The Run feature in the Start menu and the DOS window have both been disabled so you can't type commands
The desktop is not writable, but you
can
create files in the U: drive (see above)
To FTP, use WS_FTP95 (nice graphical user interface)
Tasks to do:
Download the source code for the Joe's Garage mailing-list form and its processing script and run them locally.
Install your own form and see what data it generates by setting its ACTION to
http://www.keller.com/cgi-bin/reflectform.pl
The source code is
here
.
Try lots of different field types. What data do they generate?
