Acknowledgements

Very little of the method and techniques presented here were invented by me (Dan Keller). Rather, most of these were developed at AT&T in Piscataway, New Jersey, in the early 80s, under the stewardship of Mary Ellen Perlman, fondly known by her disciples as MEP. I was privileged to be taught these techniques there in 1982 when I was subcontracting to a company named Structured Methods, a spin-off of Yourdon, and Concentric Associates, a spin-off of Structured Methods, all three now defunct. I hope I'm doing justice to the brilliant work of MEP and her team.
